I have a laptop and it is the best investment I have made yet. I also have an Xbox Kinect and it is so much fun to play with all my friend when they come over. But when I saw that that it could make its way to my laptop, I was so excited because it is so much easier to carry my laptop around than my Xbox and I will always have something to play not matter where I go. The Daily got to take a look at the new prototype for Windows 8. Microsoft has been working on this for sometime and is expected to come out some time this year. The idea of making things 3-D has made a huge impact and Microsoft is just putting to ideas into one. This item is probably going to be the next big gaming system that everyone is going to want. Since we are in the era of technology and almost everyone has a laptop, this is a smart idea because everyone will want to buy it for their little kids to play, get it for their son or daughter when they are at college, or just get it for fun, so when you have a party you will have something to do. It picks up anything six inches away so you can play literally anywhere. College dorms will perfect place to play the Kinect. The downfall is they are making a specific laptop to be able to play the Kinect. So everyone that just bought a new laptop will get the short end of the stick if they are interested in buying this item that could be the next big system. Microsoft doing this is though, can be controversial with their other systems because everyone either pick one or the other because money is so tight these days. So selling this product will have to be more expensive if they want to make a profit. However, this product has the potential to be the next hit all across the world. Only time will tell how well of an idea this Kinect is going to be.

This idea is a great business tactic. I agree with all the points you made. It is very convenient so that games can be played on laptops, which can virtually be brought anywhere. Many people do not bring their gaming consoles, such as the Xbox, with them when they travel so there is less playing time. Since laptops are often traveled with, it was a great business idea to have games and the Kinect on the go. You also made another valid point, stating that it is a negative thing for people who just bought a laptop. The availability of the software only being on a certain type of computer is definitely a downfall. Many people will hold off on buying this special laptop if they have recently bought one of if it is priced very high, like you said, for the company to make a profit. I do agree, though, that this is a great idea. Great job explaining the article.
