Hey Guys I'm Kyle Shapiro I'm currently a freshman at Nichols College. Right now I am a sports management major. Recently I have been thinking about changing it, anyone have any good ideas? I am from Amber, Pennsylvania. Ambler is a small town about 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia. While in high school I worked at a snowboarding shop, Coldstone, and for my mothers company. After high school I went on to play junior hockey. The best way to describe junior hockey is a college and professional developmental league. Everyday I had to wake up to train and practice. My weekends and some weekdays consisted of long road trips traveling to all over the country. During this time I learned how to fall asleep whenever and in any position. While playing junior hockey I lived in El Paso, Texas and Helena Montana. In Texas it was sunny everyday and over a three year span I think I may have saw ran about 15 times. Helena was quit the opposite, it was was a really small town with big mountains and during winter time it got extremely cold. Though these to places were very different I fell in love with them equally. My hobbies include Ice hockey, volleyball, snowboarding, hanging out on the lake, and basically all sports. I try to attend many concerts and professional sporting events. Im a hube Philadelphia sports fan, my favorite team is the Philadelphia Flyers. My latest job which has also been my favorite was working for Mercedes- Benz. This job let me drive cars that at this point in my life I would never be able to. Living in Montana exposed me to things that I never thought I would be able to do or even like. I went hiking in Yellowstone national park. While there we took a trip to the natural hot springs. As of that day if I could do one thing for the rest of my life it would be go hiking to the hot springs and sit in there all day. Heres a link if you ever get a chance to go out there. Yellowstone
In this course I hope to learn how to more proficiently use word programs and excel. I took a class in high school about these applications but retained only the basics. Having these skills will help you in the job world and also applying for jobs and when making a resume.
Thats awesome that you worked at Coldstone. Im surprised you worked there considering your beach body structure, but they do have great ice cream. Im not a huge Flyers fan, but anyones better than the Blackhawks. Juniors is awesome and thats crazy you played in El Paso. I hope Nichols helps for you to be successful. Keep living the the dream uge, Nice meeting you
ReplyDeleteHey Kyle, it was awesome reading about you and I'm very happy I had the opportunity to learn more about you. I find it funny you list yourself as a freshmen, but aren't you 25 years old? Why are you thinking of changing your major? I think a good major for you would be marketing, because you're great at being a salesman since you're really good at manipulating people. It would be perfect for you! I had the opporunity to play junior hockey in Canada. How did you enjoy playing hockey in such a southern climate? Was it strange to be in a cold arena when it was so warm outside?
ReplyDeleteI once went to Philly with my family for my father's work. It was unbelievable! I had such a great time, one of the best vacations I have ever been on.
I liked that you are a Flyers fan. The Montreal Canadiens are my favourite team, but the Flyers come in a close second. My favourite player was Mike Richards, its too bad they traded him this season. I love their style of play. Maybe we could be best friends forever and watch them together? I hope you say yes, that would make me so happy :).
I am very grateful I was able to learn about you Kyle Shapiro. Seems we have a lot in common. Maybe next year we could be roommates?
