My name is Katie Reid and I am from Stoughton,Massachusetts. It is small town where I live with my mom and brother. Although many people do not, I personally love my hometown. I went to SoutheasternRegional Vocational Technical High School, where I studied Business and Marketing. I was a member of DECA, where I competed in two district and state conferences and ran for state officer. I also competed in a SkillsUSA district conference. Competing in both DECA and SkillsUSA has made a positive impact on my life. It has helped me with public speaking and professionalism and also prepared me for the world of business in a fun and exciting way with my friends. Dancing and cheerleading have been a huge part of my life for eight years. In the past, I have worked as a secretary at two insurance companies.

I think that this Digital Applications course will be pretty beneficial to me. I am okay with computers, but I could definitely work on sharpening my skills. Microsoft Office is something I can work with very well, but I think this course will help me in keeping up to date with all the features it has. My overall goal is to learn as much as possible about computers and programs, and also sharpen my skills from taking this course.

I chose to research a blog about food because I love eating. I do not cook often, but I still enjoy reading recipes and learning about food. The blog I found was New Taste Today. It talks about different recipes to try and also gives information about food, such as new foods to try, information about them, conspiracies, problems, reviews, and food in the news. It is credible because it has positive reviews and has won awards as critics and newsworthy bloggers.

  1. I can relate to how you feel about your computer skills. Although I do have some knowledge about computers, I could really use some more knowledge as I lack skill in some areas. In response to your blog, I myself too love to eat, but I have no idea how to cook either. I know how to make mashed potatoes, thanks to Snoop Dogg!

  2. Stoughton isn't that in Western Massachusetts? My school did not take part in the DECA contests but I hear that people that take part in those competitions are pretty brilliant. A food blog? Oh my, I do believe that we chose the same blog, so I had to revert to my first choice. Who doesn't love food -__- I also read above that you are a cheerleader? Wow that is great, Do you cheer here at Nichols College ? You worked as a secretary but you aren't that skilled at Microsoft word ? How did you manage to land that Job jeez, I might need to consult with you when I need to find a job. I'm not sure if I have ever seen you around campus, but it's nice to meet you Katie. Don't be a stranger if you see me outside of class. :-)
