Photos Deleted Years Ago Still Linger On

The story I read was about Facebook system of deleting photos is dysfunctional, written by Jacqui Cheng published on cnn.com. Jacqui Cheng first discovered this problem three years ago, back in two thousand nine. While reporting this problem to Facebook they claimed they were working on a solution. The problem is that even though the picture itself is deleted from Facebook.com you can still find the picture if you have the direct link. You could understand why this is such a problem remember three or four years ago how immature and naïve you were then and uploaded pictures on the website but shortly "deleted" them after coming to your senses later to find out they are not really gone for good. After Jacqui Cheng spoke with Facebook a second time they said that there is a system they are working on that could erase the photos that you deleted much quicker than the old system. Now in two thousand in twelve you would think this system is up and running and all the photos you thought you deleted would be gone unfortunately this is not the case. Ms. Cheng spoke with Facebook a third time asking when the pictures will be gone and their response was that after the new system is up in running it will take approximately forty-five days from the time you pressed delete this image in till the photo is gone forever. After researching Ms. Cheng has discovered that in two thousand in eight a man pressed delete on an embarrassing photo of his neighbor’s child while he thought it would be gone never to be seen again he was wrong. Yes four years later after thinking it was the last time anyone would see that image if you got the direct link you can still see the photo. Less than a month after this being posted on CNN.com it has nearly gotten fifteen hundred likes on facebook.com which has lead me to believe that a lot of account holders at facebook.com have or will transfer over to Twitter.com to use as there social media website of choice.
